Staff Picks: Most Anticipated Movies of 2013

We’re already well into 2013, (which is scary) and there are loads of new, exciting films that are being released within the next few months. There’s some obvious ones that we’re stoked about, and some…  not so obvious ones. A ton of sequels, a few remakes and more. Check out our picks below and watch the trailers if you haven’t already!

Calia:
The Great Gatsby - Leonardo DiCaprio AND directed by Baz Luhrmann. This is going to be one extravagant depiction of the roaring 20’s, as it should be.
The Hunger Games: Catching Fire - Read all 3 books in about a week and it’s killing me that I have to wait all the way until November for this to be released.

Santa Barbara Earth Day Festival 2013

The Santa Barbara Earth Day festival took place this past weekend at Alameda Park and it was an absolute blast! We were excited to share the Social Media Lounge with our friends over at LoaTree, hangout with the Community Environmental Council crew, enjoy good music, and have an overall good time.

It’s an honor to be a sponsor and marketing partner for the Community Environmental Council of Santa Barbara. Like last year, we designed and developed a live site that displayed all the fun that was going on at Earth Day from Saturday-Sunday. You can check out the live site here.

This year, there were 35,895 festival-goers and over 200 exhibitors. The food was tasty and the local music was fresh. SB Earth Day also presented two “Environmental Hero Awards” to Van Jones and Bill Nye.

2013 Artist Comebacks

2013 has just begun, and we’ve already got word that some great comebacks are on their way!

To start, David Bowie just released a music video for his new single titled, “Where Are We Now?” His new album “The Next Day” will be released on March 12 in the US. His new single has stirred up some mixed reviews. Some absolutely love it, while others question his upcoming album. Neil McCormick of Telegraph described it as a typical Bowie track that is “beautifully strange,” which is definitely displayed in Bowie’s music video especially.
